I believe that I spoke with you first about getting a quilt made for my boss/friend 65th birthday. The whole process was wonderful. You introduced me to several quilters, but JoAn reached out to me via email and then we chatted on the phone. She took the time to listen to what I had in mind. We wanted a quilt that was going to reflect his passion of fly fishing and a rustic (man)-ly quilt. Joann quickly pieced together some beautiful greens and blues and she found some fabulous catch and release and fish fabric which she used as blocks and added a few pictures of Stan fishing. I will send pictures next week of Stan opening up his gift and share the moment with both of you!! We are extremely happy with the quilt!! This is a fabulous service and I am so glad I found you and JoAn. Sincerely, Karen Merrigan, Image X

The package with Henry's Swim Quilt arrived safe and sound yesterday. I had to take a peek and all I can say is AMAZING: Words cannot describe how lovely the quilt is. You can tell that you put your heart and soul into making this quilt. I will take a picture and send it to you when Henry opens it up. Once again thank you for all of your hard work. I know as soon as the other two boys will see it they will want one as well. - Judy Copses, California

Size: 45 x 55 inch (Wall Size)
Description: I was given a great honor and one of the best commissions ever, when asked to make this wall quilt. The person ordering the quilt is a survivor and someone who works with breast cancer patients as an advocate. I could not wait to start on this project and actually finished it in 3 weeks. I was given carte blanche to create my vision of hope for cancer patients with only one request - to add the word believe somewhere on the quilt. I drew up appliqués and sorted fabric like a mad woman. I do my best work when people let me do "my thing" and don't try to micromanage. This customer did exactly that and she and I were both thrilled with the finished piece. I used as many of the designated breast cancer fabrics as I could find. I traced one of my grandchildren's hands for the center string of appliqués to add my own little wish for survival to all.
Beading and rhinestones have both been used for the angel's halo. The quilting is done by machine in the free-motion style.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Appliquéd. Beading. Free Motion Quilting.
Fabrics: 100% Cotton
Batting: I used a fusible polyester batting to give support for this, being a wall hanging.
Care: Machine washable
Price: $ 0.00 U.S.
I credited $200 to this project as it is a very worthy cause.
