Ruth Klassen

Ruth's passion is quilting. Her mother was a sewer and quilter, so she learned to sew and quilt at a very young age. After retiring from the corp world, she joined groups and guilds, each one having a project. She now has more quilts than she or her child needs. However, she is not stopping her quilting.

Smoke-free home. Ruth does have a Maltese dog which is non-allergenic.

Yesterday, I received Snail's Trail in Pink and Cream. It's gorgeous, just as I hoped it would be. I was amazed at the work you put in on the quilting . . . the circle design with all that detail. I put it on my bed, last night. My cat also checked it out. It passed her inspection. This is my first ' real ' quilt and I'll be showing it off. I'll redecorate my bedroom around this quilt. Description: This quilt is colorful. The floral blocks and border are printed. The pieced blocks also have a printed floral center. The pieced blocks each have a different quilted design, and the rest of the quilt has stippling. The backing is solid yellow.

This quilt includes two 17" square pillow covers.

Description: This quilt is made up of 12 different bunnies. The bunny blocks are separated with a block made of 25 squares. The overall quilting is a swirl pattern. The borders have a heart pattern. Each bunny has a heart quilted on its body.

Lewis and Clark Exposition

Size: 76 x 86 inches (Wall or Queen Size)

Description: This is a very colorful quilt about Lewis and Clark's Expo. The background fabric includes reproductions of their writings. The backing is the same print as the background. The inner border is a print with bear prints. The outer border is a black back ground with colorful feathers. The Flying Geese around the block are three dimensional, as can be seen in one of the photos. A satin stitch was used around the silhouette figures. This is a new quilt started in 2004 and finished in 2008. It was quilted by a professional long arm quilter.

Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted.

Description: I found this quilt top at a flea market. Because it looked old, I hand quilted it. All of the pink fabric in the top was not the same shade, but I decided to leave it. I choose an old-fashioned pink print for the backing. I laundered it when I finished.

Technique: Machine Pieced. Hand Quilted.

Fabrics: Cotton

Batting: Polyester

Care: Machine wash gently and dry on warm.
