Monique Lavigne-Patenaude

A friend asked Monique if she would like to take a class on quilting in 2008. They took 'beginner quilting' which gave them a nice introduction to the art. Monique has been taking classes since then and experimenting with various techniques. She wishes she had taken up the craft 30 years ago! She has completed 5 to 6 projects a year since then: placemats, table runners, lap quilts, and even a few queen-size quilts. She has pieced and machine quilted her projects while gaining added experience with each completed piece. Quilting keeps her busy during her cold Canadian winters.

Monique's home is smoke-free and pet-free.

Size: 65 x 77 inches (Short Twin Size)

Description: This quilt is made up of 20 different blocks. Each block combines five different fabrics ranging from green and beige to brown. The large outside border is made from a beautiful batik fabric that brings all the colors of the quilt together. The sashing is light cream and sets the blocks perfectly.

The quilting was kept simple so as not to deter from the quilt composition.

Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted.

Fabrics: 100% Cotton and Cotton Batiks

Batting: 100% Cotton
