Deanna Jameson
Deanna Jameson
Deanna began quilting in 2004 and was hooked. She had been sewing since she was twelve years old which gave her a good starting point. She began selling her quilts in December 2006. At the time she began quilting she lived in Walla Walla, Washington, so some of her quilts reflected the emerging wine industry there. Many of the quilts sold were displayed in several wine tasting rooms in town. In 2009 Deanna won second place in the annual quilt challenge in Walla Walla with the quilt "Colors of Walla Walla Valley" shown in the picture with her. She moved to the central Oregon area in April 2010 and several of her quilts sold in a summer seasonal quilt consignment store (Emerald Quilts) in Sisters, Oregon. Deanna specializes in artistically designed and meticulously created wall hangings.
Deanna's quilts are created in a smoke-free and perfume/scent-free environment.

Ginkgo Tree

Ginkgo Tree
Size: 17.5 x 31.5 inches (Wall Size)
Description: The Ginkgo tree is an ancient survivor from prehistoric times when it grew worldwide, including the inland Pacific Northwest. Today it is only native to a few areas of China. The inspiration for the design came from several quilts seen at the Sisters, Oregon quilt festival in 2010 that were from a class on free form quilts. In her design, Deanna chose to reflect some African influence with the fabrics used. The background fabric, shading from pale to deepening sunrise tones, suggests early morning light breaking on the Ginkgo tree. There are three loops on the back for hanging and a coordinating label with the name of the quilt, the quilt maker and the year made.

Fabrics: High quality 100% Cottons

Historic Oregon Flour Mill

Historic Oregon Flour Mill
Size: 34 x 28.25 inches (Wall Size)
Description: While driving on a back road in central Oregon on a fall day, I saw an old building that had been a flour mill in the mid 1800s. There was no water wheel remaining, but I took pictures as the building and the surrounding terrain fascinated me. I found a picture of a flour mill online that had a water wheel with the water diverted over a small waterfall, which I used to incorporate with the drawing I made for this quilt. I kept the details of the original Oregon building as best I could with fabrics. The technique used was appliqué with fabric glue, which gives the textured look to everything. The orchard, corn stalks, hay bales, trailing vines and autumn-colored shrubs are based loosely on the actual plant life around the flour mill. Embroidery floss was used to show the water rippling down the waterfall. High loft polyester batting gives depth to the quilt details.
Technique: Fabric Glue Fusion Appliqué. Machine Quilted. Hand Embroidered.
Fabrics: 100% Cotton
Batting: 100% High Loft Polyester
Care: Use the dusting tool on a vacuum to clean the surface of the quilt as needed.
Price: $ 450.00 US + Shipping & Insurance

Milky Way Galaxy

Milky Way Galaxy
Size: 32 x 32 inches (Excluding Comet Tail) (Wall Size)
Description: Deanna designed this quilt to reflect the Milky Way seen in our night sky. The subtle organization of the gray tones lets the Milky Way slip out of the blackness to the lighter center using strip piecing. Various "moons' were added with hand appliqué along with a speeding comet coming out of the corner. Bead work reflecting stars was added by hand. The black border fabric has faint gray swirls hinting at other galaxies. A black and silver metallic thread was used in the machine quilting of the Milky Way. The back of the quilt is a wonderful fabric that continues the galaxy theme and includes a hanging sleeve, a "moon" label with the quilt name, quilter's name and the year made. There is also a moon on the backside of the comet tail.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted. Hand Appliquéd. Hand Beaded.

Batting: 100% Cotton, Warm and Soft
