Pat Giesecke
Pat Giesecke
Pat has been sewing all of her life. In 2003, she got her first embroidery machine and in 2007 she began quilting. She especially enjoys making all kinds of quilted items that include machine embroidery. Baby/children’s quilts have become some of her favorites. Pat gladly accepts commissions. If you have a theme idea for your child’s room that you don’t see a quilt for here, she would be glad to make one to match your theme. Embroidery patterns are available for almost any theme — from a specific animal to trains, planes, and automobiles, to princesses and ballerinas. However, please be aware that licensed designs and fabrics are just that, and not permitted to be used by the home embroiderer on items for sale. Of course, commissions for “big people”„ are welcome too! Some theme ideas for them might include birds, butterflies, leaves, flowers, or whatever suits your fancy.
Pat's home is smoke-free and pet-free.

Bouncing Balls
Size: 49 x 49 inches (Baby, Crib, Child, Lap/Throw Size)
Description: The “bouncing ball” border fabric was the inspiration for this quilt. I started it in a class teaching curved piecing where I did the pieced ball. Then I decided to add appliqué “balls” that were created using the decorative stitches on my machine. What fun I had creating and applying these balls! In addition to quilting along the curved lines of the quilt and around the balls, I then quilted in the bounces! The bright colors and happy motif of this quilt will delight young and old alike.
If you desire, a free, embroidered personalized label will be added to the back of the quilt with wording of your choice.

Floral Stained Glass

Floral Stained Glass
Size: 36.5 x 55 inches (Lap/Throw, or Wall Size)
Description: The "stained glass" look of the panel, which is the foundation of this quilt, caught my eye for its floral design in beautiful shades of pink and green. In order to make it large enough to use as a lap quilt, as well as framing it to become a perfect wall quilt, I added five borders. The pink and green borders are companion fabrics to the panel while the black ones carry on with the stained glass look. The outer gray border serves as the final frame on this beautiful quilt. The backing is a green floral print. Quilting is done along the outlines of the flowers and leaves in the panel section and in-the-ditch on the borders for emphasis making this quilt look like a stained glass window or picture.
If you desire, I will add a hanging sleeve at no extra cost.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted.
Fabrics: All fabrics are quilt shop quality 100% cotton.
Batting: Warm & Natural - 87% Cotton/13% Polypropylene - Cool in summer and warm in winter.
Care: All fabrics were prewashed prior to quilt construction. Quilt is machine washable and dryable on warm settings.

Study in Blue

Study in Blue
Size: 46 x 59 inches (Lap/Throw Size)
Description: This charm pack of precut squares shading so beautifully from light to dark blues with gold incorporated into every fabric, spoke to me and inspired the plan for this quilt. As a result, this "Study in Blue" moves from light to dark in the fabrics and reverses in the different threads used to quilt the top. Each of the eighty-eight squares is quilted separately. Twenty-six different quilting motifs are showcased. These motifs go all the way through the quilt where gold thread allows the designs to be visible on the back as well, making this a quilt that can be reversible.
If you desire, a free, embroidered personalized label can be added to the back with wording of your choice. For example: To Mom with love from Susie.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine quilted in the hoop with quilting motifs from Anita Goodesign and Dakota Collectibles.

Sunshine Makes Me Happy

Designer: Susan Guzman- published in McCall's Quick Quilts
For sale with permission of designer/publisher.

Sunshine Makes Me Happy
Size: 58 x 81.5 inches (Large Lap/Throw or Twin Size)
Description: This quilt was made from the pattern named "Makes Me Happy" that I found in a magazine. When I saw the yellow and orange collections at work, they made me happy, so I was tempted. Then I found the dot fabric used for the final border which would be perfect with those collections. This was the clincher that I would make this quilt! I love fall colors and the allover fall, floral fabric used for the backing seemed the perfect one to complement the front. In fact, this quilt is reversible with the back more subdued than the front. I quilted it in a geometric pattern with red thread on the front and yellow on the back in a heavy stitch, so that it would stand out on both sides. This quilt will make a great gift to make someone happy, or you can treat yourself!
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted.
Fabrics: All fabrics used are quilt-shop quality 100% cotton.
Batting: Warm-n-Natural 87% cotton/13% polypropylene Cool in summer, and warm in winter.
Care: Quilt is machine washable and dryable on medium settings. It has been washed once with a color catcher to remove markings.
