Description:
Traditional bear claw blocks in brilliant autumn leaf colors, joined by a rust-colored sashing and vermilion flowered border. The backing is a small brown leafy print.
Technique:
Machine-pieced and quilted. In-the ditch quilting on all blocks, parallel lines in the sashing with “X’s” at intersections, and Celtic chain pattern in the border.
Fabrics:
100% cotton/ All fabrics were preshrunk before cutting.
Batting:
80% Cotton/20% Polyester Low Loft. Pre-soaked to avoid shrinkage.

This quilt created just for little boys is divided into three parts, each one with charming, old-fashioned characters. The top section is filled with circus figures, the middle section with cowboys and Indians, and the third with children just having fun.
I have made several of these quilts and children love them! They take them to bed with them every night, and their parents make up stories about the children and animals in them. They have also been used as wall hangings.

Description:
I saw this quilt in a quilt shop and fell in love with it. It was done in traditional patriotic red, white and blue, but I thought it would be stunning done in American colors so I went shopping. I love the rich texture of batiks and found a deep navy, brilliant cranberry and light grey with hints of green. When the quilt top was done my impression was "striking!" This is an old pattern that was updated by Eleanor Burns and she made this quilt a pleasure to piece although quite time consuming. The top is 100% quilt shop quality cotton batik and the back is 100% premium quality muslin. I pieced the quilt and it was custom quilted by Lou's Heartfelt Quilting.
Care: Machine wash in cold water with 1/2 cup white vinegar to set the colors. Subsequent washing in cold water with a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low or hand to dry. Complete care recommendations included with purchase.
